Authenticity of customer reviews

Verifying the authenticity of customer reviews

Information requirements pursuant to Section 5b(3) of the Unfair Competition Act

Every consumer review is checked for authenticity before publication, to ensure that reviews are only submitted by consumers who have actually purchased or used the products being reviewed.

The review takes place

  • by means of a manual check, involving a comparison of the review with the order history in the stock management system, so that the review is only published if a previous purchase of the product has actually taken place;
  • by sending personalised links once an order has been completed. These links lead to an online review form and ensure that access to the review function is granted only to consumers who have actually purchased a product;
  • in that the review can only be submitted once the user has logged into a registered customer account through which a purchase was made.
