Primers improve the adhesion between the substrate and the adhesive, particularly in the case of materials that are difficult to bond, such as polyethylene, polypropylene, polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) and silicone. The use of primers increases the surface energy of these low-energy plastics, enabling a reliable and durable bond. Primers are easy to use: clean the surface to be bonded, roughen it slightly if necessary, and apply the primer. After a short drying time, the surface is ready for bonding, which significantly improves adhesion and extends the durability of the bonded joint.
