The gold plating enhances conductivity and corrosion resistance while reducing burn-off caused by frequent plugging and unplugging, thus extending the lifespan. With only 1.5 mOhm, the electrical resistance of the connector is very low, allowing for a short-term current load capacity of up to 30 A.
